Campaign Title
"Suppress This"
Creative and Production
Duncan Channon, San Francisco
Stills Photography
Existing imagery commissioned from Darius Riley and Andrea Granera
Production Scope
We secured striking photo images from our POC photographer partners and created unflinching copy to mobilize anger and fight against voter suppression. In addition to motion graphics, production included media insertions in various publications, digital and social platforms, printed posters, OOH and lawn signs.
The challenge with getting this important messaging out was financial, requiring our media leads to pitch every vendor they could reach for donated inventory. Almost all the vendors we reached responded and more than half agreed to run the campaign for free. Ultimately, we secured more than $150,000 worth of media placements.
The campaign was a featured exhibit in Communication Arts.
The “Suppress This” pro bono campaign fought back against unfair voting rules by making it easier and safer for black and brown voters to cast their ballots during the pandemic. The goal: show that people’s votes matter, and nobody can take away their voice.
